Greater Things

Our vision for the future

Giving Progress Commitment Card

“Whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these.”

John 14:12

As we look toward the future, we remember this remarkable promise Jesus gave His disciples:

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”

– John 14:12

These words have inspired generations of Christ-followers, including the men and women who started our church 54 years ago, to boldly follow Jesus wherever he calls.

In that spirit, our church is embarking on a new journey of faith called Greater Things. It’s a three-year capital campaign that is rooted in our mission to lead people to say yes to Jesus and follow Him in every part of life. It’s also an extension of our commitment to reach and serve our neighbors, the next generation, and those in need.

You’ll find all the details in the pages ahead, along with sermon notes, a prayer guide, and practical suggestions about how to engage in this process.

But this campaign is not just about raising money—it’s about what God wants to do in you and in our church.

So my prayer is that this journey would grow your faith in Jesus, because the greater our faith, the greater He works.

Celebrating our history

On April 20, 1969, a small group of people gathered in a garage just a few blocks from our Kirkland campus.  There was no building or budget, just a dream about being part of a spiritual revival on the Eastside of Seattle and beyond.

Since that time, thousands of people have been baptized, hundreds of missionaries have been commissioned, tens of thousands of adults and kids have been discipled, tens of millions of dollars have been invested in local and global missions, and five more churches have been planted.

GREATER THINGS CAMPAIGN LAUNCH

Our church embarks on a three-year capital campaign rooted in our mission to lead people to say yes to Jesus and an extension of our commitment to reach and serve our neighbors, the next generation, and those in need.

Hearing God’s Call

In the wake of the spiritual and social upheaval of the past few years, we believe God is calling us to step out in faith again for the sake of our neighbors, the next generation, and those in need.

Our Neighbors

First, we see an urgent need for more Jesus-centered churches that can reach the increasingly diverse and unchurched communities in our region.

The Next Generation

Second, we believe now is the time to create safer, more accessible, and more engaging ministry environments for kids and families so we can better equip the next generation.

Those in Need

Third, we want to repurpose a portion of our lower floor for a Together For ministry or ministry partner that will directly serve those outside the walls of our church.
